Charities
The Carnation Lodge does not fund individuals. The only exceptions are the Poor Kindered of the R.A.O.B and Individual Members, Widows & Orphans of the Carnation Lodge 5723 which are administered under seperate schemes not covered by these guidlines.
To apply to our Lodge for a Special Charity Grant your organisation must be based within the surrounding area of Hoyland.
The Lodge do not require applicants to use a special applcation form, but suggest that the following guidelines be used:
Applications should be no longer then one A4 side and should incorporate a short half page summary. In addition applications should:
a. State clearly who they are, what they do, and whom they seek help
b. Give the applicants status, e.g., registered charity.
c. Describe cleary the project, reason of the grant
d. If known, please state the amount sought
Please keep the the application as simple as possible and avoid the use of technical terms, acronyms and jargon. Please do not send videos or CD roms.
Applications can be submitted at anytime during the year. A letter acknowledging the application will be sent within two weeks of receipt. Although donations are normally made in October.

This is a small list of recent donations made to the surrounding area of Hoyland. The list is not exhaustive, but gives an idea what our Lodge has done.
2008
£150.00 Barnsley Animal Rescue Charity to replace the wheelie bin after Vandals set fire to it.
£250.00 to the Church Street Elsecar Nursey for New Toys after vandals damaged the current ones
£100.00 to the Barnsley Destroyers Wheelchair Basketball Team
Salvation Army receives a donation of £25.00
£100.00 donated to the Save Lowe Stand appeal
